The quest for Chelsea Football Club to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has suffered a big blow just hours before the transfer window closes.

The Blues are in desperate need of a striker as they have allowed Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner to leave the club for Inter Milan and RB Leipzig respectively. However, the news coming out from Barcelona is that Aubameyang broke his jaw after he was attacked by armed robbers in his home over the weekend.

Aubameyang is expected to be out for a few weeks, the length of his absence will be determined by whether he will have surgery or not. It is believed that surgery will make the injury heal faster rather than letting it heal naturally.

Chelsea’s decision to bring the player over to Stamford Bridge might see a bit of change. The Blues are reportedly looking at the possibility of a loan deal instead of a permanent deal.
