'Made In Lagos' has spent a total of 102 weeks on the Billboard world album charts. The figure might not sound shocking, but Wizkid had actually tied a 27-year-old record held by the legend Cesaria Evora with her album titled 'Cesaria.'

It had been the longest-charting African Album for 27 years till Wizkid tied the record Monday, February 14, 2022, and surpassed it in the week of the 28th of October, 2022.

2. 1st African And Nigerian Song To Receive Platinum Certification In USA

Wizkid's 'Essence' featuring Tems off the 'Made In Lagos' album became the first Nigerian and African song to sell over a million copies in the USA. The RIAA certified the song Platinum on Monday, October 4, 2021.

Wizkid's 'Made In Lagos' is the only African album also to receive an RIAA certification after the album sold over 500,000 units in the US alone.
