Players that have played for both Real Madrid and Chelsea

Chelsea Football Club have always been a shopping mall for Real Madrid when they intend to scout players from the English Premier League.

The Blues and the Galacticos have players who share a rich history between both clubs. Here is the list of players below,

(1) Eden Hazard:

The Belgian is the most current player to transfer from Chelsea Football Club to Real Madrid. He joined the Blues in 2012 after they won the UEFA Champions League in Munich before making his mega move to Real Madrid in the 2019 summer transfer window for €115 million. Hazard's time at Madrid will be remembered as an injury-plagued season.

(2) Antonio Rudiger:

Chelsea supporters will forever be pained whenever they talk about the transfer of the German to Real Madrid. Rudiger joined the Blues in 2017 from Roma. He went on to join the Galacticos at the beginning of the 2022-23 season after winning the Champions League with Chelsea.

(3) Thibaut Courtois:

This is the second Belgian that decided to jump ship from Chelsea to Real Madrid and could be regarded as the best signing from Stamford Bridge. Courtois joined the London club in 2014 where he spent four years winning two Premier League titles before forcing his way out of the club in 2018 to join Real Madrid.

(4) Matteo Kovacic:

The Croatia International is one of the players that transferred from Real Madrid to Chelsea because he did not have enough playing time when he was at the Santiago Bernabeu. He later completed his move to the home of the Blues in 2018. He has won four Champions League trophies, three with Real Madrid and one with Chelsea.

(5) Arjen Robben

The Dutchman was one of the best attack-minded players during his time as a football. However, his history will not be complete without writing about his time at Chelsea (2004-07) and Real Madrid ( 2007-09. The winger made 106 appearances for the Blues and 65 appearances for Los Blancos.

(6) Gonzalo Higuain:

The German is also on the list of players that played for both Real Madrid and Chelsea. The forward player had the best time of his career with the La Liga giants before moving to the Premier League where he played for Manchester United and Chelsea.

(7) Alvaro Morata:

The Atletico Madrid player has played for some of the top clubs in Europe, Chelsea and Real Madrid are part of the clubs he played for. He spent eight years at Real Madrid from 2008 to 2016, in between that time, he spent one year at Juventus before moving to Chelsea for three years until 2020.

(8) Claude Makalele:

The French International is regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world during his playing days. Makalele played for Real Madrid from 2000 to 2003 before he switched to the Blue side of London from 2003 to 2008.

(9) Ricardo Carvalho:

The former Portugal player will always be remembered as one of the best defenders in the history of the Premier League, his partnership with John Terry.

He won two Premier League titles in a row and one League Cup, in his first two seasons. In 2008, he was voted the team's Players' Player of the Year. Two years later, he helped Chelsea win the league and FA Cup, the first Double in the club's history. He transferred to Real Madrid for a fee of £6.7 million during the 2010 summer transfer window.

(10) Nicolas Anelka:

The French forward player also played for Real Madrid and Chelsea where he enjoyed a bit of success. He played for Real Madrid in 1999 and 2000 and played for the Blues from 2007 to 2012.

(11) Michael Essien:

The Ghanaian filled the role of defensive midfielder at Chelsea when Makalele left the Blues. He won two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League before joining Real Madrid on loan in 2012.
